That’s what I’m naming the latest addition to my “herd” of vintage sewing machines lol.
I finally found a Singer Featherweight 221K that I can afford. It’s cute as a button, hence its name “Cutie-pie”. The featherweights I knew to be highly collectible, but that’s not entirely why I wanted it. My mom’s machine has been out of commission for some time, requiring a new foot pedal and motor. I had converted it to a knee controlled machine but I don’t much care for that style because of leg movement issues and not much space for the bar etc. Little Cutie will do all the things that mom’s 99K will do and doesn’t take up half the space.
The pic is from just after we got it home.
I’m so excited to use it!
Holy cow! January is gone already! I’ve added a couple new things to the shop, photos are pending (update – photos are up)… I usually like to pre-wash the items before I post them. That way customers can see what items really look like after washing.
I usually take a break from sewing after Christmas to get caught up on other things or do some fun stuff such hunting for old Singer sewing machines to add to my “herd” and also hit the after holiday fabric sales. Gotta love those!! I’m just about ready to get back at it, and as always, I’m looking for some new projects to try.
I’m hoping to have some new items for the shop sometime soon. I was asked about hanging tea/hand towels, and also casserole carriers at the craft fair I did in December, so I thought I might make some of them when my little hiatus from sewing is over.
I’m may be making a couple changes in the shop in the baby section. I would like to offer a free item ($25 value) when someone purchases a regular size baby quilt. Update: Not sure if I can offer this, as I have not yet found a way to make it work with Etsy.
Happy New Year! The Christmas sale has been extended to Jan 15, 2019!
All the best! I hope everyone has a happy and safe holiday season!
